Another lovely vintage 1990s April Cornell dress with a beautiful print of deep sapphire blue roses and tiny cream flowers on warm autumn gold rayon crepe, with April's classic front-button, back ties style. Sapphire jewelry looks amazing with this! So versatile for all seasons, in cooler weather you could dress it up with a nice gold, dark blue or ecru knit cardigan or other layering piece/accessories (see last several photos for ideas---sweaters shown are for example only and NOT included in this listing) This is the high quality, beautiful rayon crepe that April originally used in her dresses back in the day and which you don't find in her current collections anymore--it's "old school" lasting quality that wears well, which is why collectors just love her vintage dresses! Beautifully made with lovely details such as soft waist pleats on the bodice, a vintage-style collar and inset back ties. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable vintage style, with a soft line that clings to the body-very vintage 30's/40's.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE, please be sure to read ALL of the description especially the measurements and condition, and examine ALL the photos, BEFORE asking questions; and do be absolutely positive this piece will fit your requirements, as there are no refunds or returns. I'm a degreed and experienced textile scientist/antique garment restorer and seamstress, and I very, very carefully note any and all condition issues or repairs to every piece of antique/vintage clothing that I'm selling, so I can't stress enough that even if they're in pristine condition, remember they are all decades old and NOT newly-made clothing, so if you desire modern perfection please don't purchase vintage! I don't do layaways or take offers, so please don't ask, thank you. Jewelry/accessories/props in photos are not included and not for sale.
I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties.
Though marked an M, please go by the measurements below-- Vintage April Cornell dresses are often generously sized.
Bust max: dress measures 42" pit to pit, fits up to about 40-41", no larger than that.
High waist measures 37" across, fits up to 32"-33" or so. Can be made smaller by tying the back ties.
Length is approx 45" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; this measurement will be a little shorter on a human figure; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36) and the dress fits well with room to spare; like many April Cornell vintage dresses, the fit can be adjusted with the back ties. I'd say best for up to a 12, but double check measurements to be sure; there are no returns or exchanges on vintage clothing.
Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress; it is freshly cleaned and looks like new, no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag.
Please make sure this will suit you as to measurements and style before you purchase; I don't do alterations or accept returns.....Also, please be sure to read my shop policies/shipping info in full before you purchase (click on "policies" on my main shop page).
