Lovely April Cornell Vintage Cottagecore Rayon Crepe Dress / Coral Pink Red Roses on Ivory / Insets of coordinating print

Pretty vintage 1990s April Cornell garden party dress of beautiful coral pink and red floral on soft ivory and cream rayon crepe. So versatile, you could dress it up with a nice knit cardigan or other layering piece/accessories, a belt, or just go simple and casual. This is the high quality, beautiful rayon crepe that April originally used in her dresses back in the day and which you don't find in her current collections anymore--it's "old school" lasting quality that wears well, which is why collectors just love her vintage dresses! Beautifully made with lovely intricate details such as insets/godets of coordinating small floral print on ivory crepe; these are narrow insets on the upper bodice area that flare out below the waist into pleated godets in the skirt---very clever design and workmanship! Buttons all the way down the back, and has button-on back ties that you can either adjust to make the fit closer, or just unbutton them and wear the dress without the ties. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable vintage style, with a soft line that clings to the body. This is marked an XXL but that is definitely vintage sizing, as it has the same bust measurement as the blue L I just listed (44") so I would say it's definitely more of an L/XL.

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. This is a NON SMOKING environment and always has been--I do not sell anything that has any kind of odor, nor do I ship clothing stuffed into shipping bags; I use new USPS boxes ONLY and carefully fold/wrap everything in new tissue paper.

Though marked a vintage XXL, please go by the measurements below as this is vintage and definitely is smaller than current Cornell size XXLs!

Bust, waist and hip: Dress measures 44" at bust, 40-41" waist. Wearer's body measurements should be 2" smaller than those measurements.
Length is 51" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; this measurement will be a little shorter on a human figure; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36).

Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress, it's in absolutely excellent condition, no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, Just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag.
