April Cornell Vintage - Orchid Purple Floral Woven Rayon -1990s Does 1930s/40s Porch Dress - Cottagecore - Smocking - Size XL

Another lovely vintage 1990s April Cornell dress with a beautiful print of pink and cream flowers on very soft woven rayon, with April's classic front-button style. Rows of smocking on front and back bodice add vintage style charm and this particular style is called a "porch dress" in April's collections. So versatile for all seasons, in cooler weather you could dress it up with a nice cardigan or other layering piece/accessories (see fifth photo for ideas---sweater shown is for example only and NOT included in this listing) April's designs are so comfortable, are timeless in style and always wear well, which is why collectors just love her vintage dresses! Beautifully made with lovely details and super soft rayon fabric, plus even has extra buttons included on the inside side seam! Such a beautiful and wearable vintage style, with a soft drapey line that looks flattering on many figure types.

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. This is a NON SMOKING environment and always has been--I do not sell anything that has any kind of odor, nor do I ship clothing stuffed into shipping bags; I use new USPS boxes ONLY and carefully fold/wrap everything in new tissue paper.

Though marked an XL, please go by the measurements below-- Vintage April Cornell dresses are often differently sized.

Bust max: dress measures 46" pit to pit, fits up to about 44" actual body measurement, no larger than that.
Length is approx 40" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36) and the dress has plenty of room to spare. I'd say best for up to a 14, maybe 16, but double check measurements to be sure; there are no returns or exchanges on vintage clothing.

Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress; it is freshly cleaned and looks great, no underarm wear, no stains, rips, holes or damages, just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tags; also has two extra buttons provided in the inner side seam.
