Such a breathtakingly beautiful, feminine vintage 1990s April Cornell winter/holiday dress with a definite feeling of the 1920's/30's, this exquisite beauty is just scrumptious with its romantic print of muted pink roses and peonies with deep moss green leaves on rich, deep ruby red (a true, deep rich bluish-ruby/wine red, not bright red) flowing, sheer rayon chiffon. One of my absolute TOP favorites of all the lovely April Cornell dresses I've had--I was so inspired by this fabulous dress that I had to create a coordinating silk cloche hat in vintage silks of deep ruby and metallic gold---please check my other listings for that--the ensemble is just breathtaking indeed! (this listing is for the dress and slip ONLY) This is the high quality, beautiful rayon that April originally used in her dresses back in the day and which you don't find in her current collections anymore.....the dress has a separate ruby red shimmery rayon taffeta slip which buttons down the entire front---it's the finest April Cornell slip I've ever seen, can even be worn with the dress open as a duster to show it beneath! This utterly dreamy dress has 3/4 sheer sleeves, princess seaming/fit, and delicate chiffon ruffles around the entire neckline and down the front, which is also buttoned all the way down. SO beautifully made with lovely details such as inner straps/snaps in the dress to hold the slip in place, and back ties to adjust the fit. A timeless, extremely beautiful and wearable vintage style, with a softly drapey classic vintage silhouette. In absolutely excellent, like-new condition. This would be a PERFECT winter wedding or holiday tea gown, Art Deco event or, a totally wonderous drop-dead fabulous ensemble to wear to a special fall or winter holiday event most especially if worn with the coordinating hat! I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. This is a NON SMOKING environment and always has been--I do not sell anything that has any kind of odor, nor do I ship clothing stuffed into shipping bags; I use new USPS boxes ONLY and carefully fold/wrap everything in new tissue paper.

Though marked an M, please go by the measurements below, could possibly fit other sizes as well since April Cornell dresses are often generously sized, plus the back ties allow for adjustment in closeness of fit.
Bust on both the dress and the slip measures 42" max; wearer's measurements should be at least 1"-2" smaller than that.
Waist area on both also measures about 42". A-line, princess fit which flares out to a drapey, elegant hem.
Length is 48" from shoulder to hem of the dress while on the hanger; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36); it fits those measurements well and can easily accommodate larger measurements, see above.
Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress, it is like new and looks never worn, is freshly cleaned, no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, Just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag.
