Vintage Style FABULOUS soft light dusty green pure silk brocade with magnificent antique hand embroidered silk band 1920s Flapper Cloche Hat---this cloche features some VERY lavish & exquisite entirely hand-done antique embroidery in varying shades of pastel greens, lilac, lavender and pinks---I've come upon a fantastic stash of the most beautiful antique hand embroidered silk in many different colors and styles, and will be using some of these one of a kind pieces in upcoming hat and clothing designs. This beauty is made to order just for you to your own particular head measurement..... Like all of my hats, this one is exquisitely hand made from authentic 1920's patterns, absolutely sumptuous pure silk materials and lavish antique trimmings....yet so wearable today....this one looks soooo incredibly vintage as all the trim on the band & brim is antique/vintage and the colors/tones are all deliciously subtle yet extraordinarily rich....a perfect Great Gatsby/Downton Abbey event or Art Deco party cloche! And, this hat is especially wonderful for the chemo patient as it fits closely to the head and looks soooo feminine and glamorous....everyone will ask "WHERE did you get that, it's so gorgeous!"

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....Am now translating that love to my own contemporary creations and using all the fine extraordinary antique and vintage materials, laces, trims, beads etc that I've collected for more than 30 years in these wonderful wearable pieces....along with the finest of hand sewing and one of a kind details. Everything I create is individually hand made solely by me and has the very best of my carefully hoarded private stash of superb old accents (I use ONLY vintage materials that are in pristine condition---no deteriorating, too-aged or rotting pieces EVER) plus the finest of modern silks, cottons and wools that I can find.....resulting in a fabulous truly authentic vintage look piece. Impeccable professional workmanship and design are the hallmarks here...

This exquisite beauty of a cloche, which is one of my most popular styles, is made of very lush and shimmering light green silk brocade with a small pattern of pale dusty green leaves and flowers....this is augmented with an utterly fabulous wide band of the most intricate & exquisite HAND DONE antique embroidery, in several shades of greens, pinks, lavenders and must have taken hours upon hours of work just to embroider this piece; literally has to be seen to be believed! This gorgeous band is bordered at top and bottom by fine handmade vintage ivory tatting trim as well as softest lavender-taupe and lilac ribbonwork garland exquisite! At the side is a delicate hand crocheted medallion topped with more of the ribbonwork trim and in the middle, a big handmade, hand tinted, "shabby chic" soft lilac/pink/lavender silk flower with a pale green ribbon bow.. The brim edge is bound with taupe silk panne velvet and more of the handmade tatted trim threaded with lilac silk ribbon..... just utterly beautiful details that take one's breath away. The fabric is just shimmeringly exquisite, the lavish embroidery and accents make this piece look extraordinarily vintage and ALL of the exterior decoration including the individual decorative elements, are painstakingly sewn on by hand, just as in the "old days".....I'm a stickler for primo "old school" workmanship! Fully lined in finest pure pale green silk.....So perfect for someone who has undergone chemo too, as this is a very comfortable hat....I think everyone has the right to be BEAUTIFUL and this would be a great gift for someone who needs that little lift and to feel so pretty....! Also a great piece for anyone to wear to a vintage themed event or reenactment...this is as authentic and historically correct as it gets :-) Looks fabulous with the brim worn up or down, though I think it's best up....and be sure to check my other listings for the wonderful green antique lace jacket that looks so beautiful with this hat!

Please make sure you carefully note proper head measurements: this is a MADE TO ORDER hat and I generally make this particular style to fit up-to-medium sizes, my basic pattern measures approx. 24" inner circumference so I would say up to a size 23/23 1/4" head could wear this, any larger than that and it would probably be too snug for real comfort, I have a 22.5 size head and this fits me nicely and perfectly....if you have a small head and your hair is flat, this might be somewhat loose on you so make sure you tell me if a size adjustment is mannequin has a 22" head but very fluffy hair, so do keep that in mind; if your head size measurement falls outside this range, you must let me know when ordering. (no extra charge for larger sizes, I just need to know exact requirement in advance) PLEASE NOTE that these hats are NOT adjustable, alterable or returnable so please do know your exact requirement before purchasing as there are no refunds or returns. To take your head measurement: --use a tape measure crossed over the forehead and just above the ears around to the largest part of the head. The 1920's cloche is meant to be a close fitting hat and hairstyle should kept to a minimum for the proper look....... Half an inch in head size CAN make a difference so please, make sure you have exact size requirements in hand before you buy. Also, please do read my shop policies/shipping info in full BEFORE you purchase (click on "policies" on my main shop page). Be sure to look at all of the numerous photos of this hat that I have posted on my Facebook page---many more views than I can show here...
