Stunning Vintage 1990s Rich Chocolate Brown Velvet April Cornell Coat - Romantic Full Poet Sleeves - Roomy Pockets - Size M/L

Stunning and beautifully made, classic April Cornell vintage coat in luxurious deep rich chocolate brown 100% cotton velvet, with wonderful styling details like front pockets and unusual, beautiful full "poet" sleeves that are gathered at elbow and wrist. What makes this coat extra special is the fact that since it's collarless, you can endlessly accent it and change the look with different scarves (the one shown in the second photo is NOT included in this listing), or wear a cowl neck/turtleneck underneath, and/or augment it with the perfect brooch! Buttons all the way down the front. Exquisite styling with pleats at the back and seaming/pockets shaping the front. Fabric is a substantial, woven soft substantial cotton velvet--like all of April Cornell's vintage fabrics, it's very high quality. Fully lined in matching brown woven cotton. Gorgeous bohemian piece!

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. This is a NON SMOKING environment and always has been--I do not sell anything that has any kind of odor, nor do I ship clothing stuffed into shipping bags; I use new USPS boxes ONLY and carefully fold/wrap everything in new tissue paper.

Marked "M/L" ; please check measurements as this will definitely fit a large as well.
Chest measures 48" on the OUTSIDE, closed. (Inside will be smaller by at least 1") I would suggest wearer have no larger than a 44-45" bust.
Waist area measures 46".
Sleeves are 24" from shoulder to cuff edge. These are two-part sleeves, with the upper part being regular set-in straight sleeves, and from the elbow down they are very full and gathered---very "poetic"! The gathered cuff area has elastic.
Length is 40" from shoulder to hem; Mannequin is approx. 5' 6" and a modern size 6/8, I believe this coat could fit up to a 14/16 (but check measurements to be sure!)

Condition: Excellent, no rips, spots, stains, odors or other damages that I can see, has April Cornell's original designer tags.
