Stunning Vintage 1990s Designer Sandy Starkman - Autumn Tones and Metallic Copper Fabulously Embroidered Western Bohemian Jacket -- L

Stunning and beautifully made, boho embroidered and appliqued elaborate autumn tones of dusty blue, tan and burnt orange brocade embroidered with glimmering copper---another jacket by designer Sandy Starkman, well known for her exquisite unusual materials, layering of different elements, bohemian designs and embroideries. If you're someone who likes to make a head-turning entrance, this piece is definitely for you! This one has the most wonderful level of breathtaking details and amount of painstaking construction---I've owned and handled a lot of Starkman jackets and this is one of my favorites! SO beautiful and elegant, with extensive and intricate metallic embroidery and applique work on a pieced background of varying colors of exquisite shimmery rayon brocade. Very unusual and beautiful fabrics, with every edge of the applique work edged in fine chenille---it's truly "art to wear"! The jacket itself is intricate in pattern and configuration, with a semi-Western style which appears often in Starkman designs. Coordinating rayon lining and buttons. Very good condition, the lining does need a bit of freshening up so I definitely recommend having this professionally cleaned. Marked size L but please check measurements below to be sure. I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. There is NO SMOKING whatsoever in this establishment and never has been. Everything is very diligently inspected before it is shipped to you, carefully wrapped in new tissue, and I only ship in NEW USPS boxes, NOT flimsy bags or crammed into careless packaging (which seems to be widespread nowadays but I really hate to see when I'm the recipient!) I respect clothing and I ship it the way I would want it shipped to me.

Size tag marked an L, would work for a M too; please check measurements.
Chest measures 41" on the OUTSIDE, closed. (Inside will be smaller by at least 1") I would suggest wearer definitely have no larger than a 38" bust. This buttons down the front with five buttons.
Sleeves are 24" from shoulder to cuff edge.
Length is 23" from shoulder to hem; Mannequin is approx. 5' 6" and a modern size 6/8, the jacket fits the mannequin with room to spare so in my opinion a modern size 8/10, maybe 12 depending on how snug one wants the fit, would fit this best (but carefully check measurements to be sure!)

Condition: Excellent/very good vintage condition, no rips, spots, stains or any other damages or wear on the outer shell, lining does have a little evidence of being worn in the inner armpit area so I'd strongly suggest having this cleaned. Has the designer's "Sandy Starkman" tag.
