Deco Gatsby 1920s style Vintage April Cornell 2 pc Dress & Slip - Red Floral Rayon Chiffon - 90s does 20s Tea Dress - S/XS

Fantastic vintage 1990s April Cornell dress that looks just like it stepped out of a 1920's or early 30's fashion magazine! This is one of my absolute favorites of all the April Cornell dresses I've had, because everything about it looks incredibly 20's from the vintage prints to the wonderful styling....all in semi-sheer, flowing rayon chiffon in beautiful soft shades of antique muted red and ecru--the fabric alone looks super vintage! This is the high quality, beautiful rayon that April originally used in her dresses back in the day and which you don't find in her current collections anymore.....this dress is sheer and has a matching lovely red full slip to wear underneath. Beautifully made with lovely details such as inset flaring godets of coordinating red dotted chiffon in both the front and back of the lower skirt area, giving it a flirty flapper look---as well as long center front neck ties, and a line of clear sequins along the neckline, giving it a subtle little glimmer. Has inner snap tabs on each shoulder line to hold the under slip in place. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable vintage style, and the look is so very vintage 20's! In absolutely excellent condition. This would be a PERFECT wedding, Art Deco tea or garden party dress or to wear to an event like the Gatsby Summer Afternoon---fabulous for any Art Deco or Gatsby themed event!

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. There is NO SMOKING whatsoever in this establishment and never has been. Everything is very diligently inspected before it is shipped to you, carefully wrapped in new tissue, and I only ship in NEW USPS boxes, NOT flimsy bags or crammed into careless packaging (which seems to be widespread nowadays but I really hate to see when I'm the recipient!) I respect clothing and I ship it the way I would want it shipped to me.

Though marked an S, please go by the measurements below. Vintage April Cornell sizing can be different than contemporary sizes. This would also fit an XS.

Bust max: fits up to about 36", no larger than that. (The actual pit-to-pit measurement of the garment is about 38" but you need to allow at least two inches added to your own body measurements for proper fit.)
Waist: measures 32" so wearer's waist should be at least 2" smaller
Hip max: also fits up to 36", no larger
Length is 41" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; this measurement will be slightly shorter on a human figure; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36); the dress fits those measurements PERFECTLY.

Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress, both the dress and the slip have been freshly cleaned, are in excellent condition and look never worn; no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, Just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag.
