Gorgeous April Cornell Vintage - Sublime Lemon Yellow and Periwinkle Blue Rayon Crepe - 90s Does 40s Dress - Cottagecore - Size XL

This lovely dress features a delicious print of flowers and leaves in periwinkle blue, on lemony yellow rayon crepe, with April's classic front-button, collared, back ties 1940's-inspired style. So pretty and feminine and the style is classic--it's remained stylish for decades! This is the high quality, beautiful rayon crepe that April originally used in her dresses back in the day and which you don't find in her current collections anymore--it's "old school" lasting quality that wears well, which is why collectors just love her vintage dresses! Beautifully made with lovely details such as a vintage-style collar piped in periwinkle blue (the short sleeves have the same periwinkle crepe in binding around the inner edges) tucks at the waist to give it a shapely silhouette. This dress is in excellent condition and a very wearable size. Such a timeless, beautiful vintage style, with a soft line that clings to the body-very vintage 30's/40's. The perfect spring dress!

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. There is NO SMOKING whatsoever in this establishment and never has been. Everything is very diligently inspected before it is shipped to you, carefully wrapped in new tissue, and I only ship in NEW USPS boxes, NOT flimsy bags or crammed into careless packaging (which seems to be widespread nowadays but I really hate to see when I'm the recipient!) I respect clothing and I ship it the way I would want it shipped to me.

Though marked a vintage XL, please go by the measurements below-- Vintage April Cornell dresses are often generously sized, but they are not generally supposed to be tight-fitting.
Bust: dress measures 44-45" pit to pit, fits up to about 42-43", larger than that will be too snug in my opinion.
Waist area measures 40" across, fits up to 38" or so.
Length is approx 48" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; this measurement will be a little shorter on a human figure; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36) and is too small for the dress. Meant to fit loosely/gently, not snugly, with gentle shaping at the waist created by tucks at the waistline, front and back.

Condition: I can find no flaws on this dress; it is freshly cleaned, no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, just gorgeous! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag.
