Vintage April Cornell Stretch Velvet Jumper/Dress - Vivid Purple Floral - Beautiful Multi-Season Dress - Pockets - Size L

A beautiful and very classic April Cornell stretch velvet/velour jumper or dress, that is extremely versatile: you could wear this with a little knit long sleeved top underneath in fall/winter, then change to just wearing a jacket or sweater over the dress by itself when Spring approaches. A timeless, beautiful and wearable vintage style; has a raised waist, gathered skirt, inset side pockets, buttons all the way down the front, and purple satin back ties to adjust the fit. Wonderful, high quality thick stretch velvet/velour. The print is absolutely gorgeous, deep wine and beige flowers on a rich purple background (April's prints are without equal!) 80% poly, 20% cotton. This would be a perfect addition to your wardrobe, dressing it up or down depending on what you pair with it---it's a truly awesome multi-season piece. Marked L but please check measurements below.

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties! I'm meticulous about clothing in general so I make quite sure that every piece of vintage clothing I sell is clean, fresh, pressed and in excellent wearable condition---I do not use any fragranced or heavily-chemical products in caring for/cleaning garments and they are carefully stored in climate-controlled closets at all times except for when I am photographing them for listings. This is a NON SMOKING environment and always has been--I do not sell anything that has any kind of odor, nor do I ship clothing stuffed into shipping bags; I use new USPS boxes ONLY and carefully fold/wrap everything in new tissue paper.

Though marked an L, please go by the measurements below; this garment does have some stretch:

Bust and raised waist both measure 42" unstretched, can stretch to about 46". I wouldn't recommend stretching it too much, however--in my opinion wearer's bust/raised waist size shouldn't be more than 44".
Length is 47" from shoulder to hem while on the hanger; the dress fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8 (36-26-36), the dress is much too roomy on the mannequin but can easily be adjusted down to fit with the button-on back ties.

Condition: Excellent, I don't see any flaws on this dress, has been freshly cleaned, no rips, holes, odors or damages, just gorgeous and the fabric/colors are fantastic! Labels are intact, with the designer's own April Cornell tag. Marked L.
